WE4 + SEQUELS ...HAVE DEM ALL PT 2

When the quartet of Farouq Elemide, A.y, Habeeb and Kehinde 'kenzo' Olagoke birthed the idea of HDA in Ilorin, kwara state capital, little did the rather sleepy town know that a bang was in the corner. With just a few friends, limited funds and personal efforts Ilorin witnessed the maddest party in 2013 so far. Now the train is moving to Lasgidi and WE4+ is joining forces with Sequels to bring the 'Gidi edition. September 14th is the day and this mad event will hold @ 360 bar, Elegushi...hmmmmm...na wa oooo... tickets out soon!!...

..AND THE WINNER IS.......DILLISH MATTHEW

She's pretty, fantastic, lovely, gorgeous, approachable and yes!!...every guy's crush.  "Dillish, it's official, you are now rich"!. These words from BBA host Ik Osakioduwa confirmed to the sultry Namibian that she is now the queen of Afrrica. Edging out the West African contingent wasnt that easy. Goodluck Dillish! best wishes from the local joint.

'BIODUN FATOYINBO... WITHER THE COMPASS???

This kind of issues makes the local joint bubble!!!..... A pastor and a church member... I had my reservations about the church but like my father will say.."don't talk about a man of God"...in my head i always added "without facts".. For days now the story has been rife about our dear pastor who had an extra-curricular activity in the queen's land. Names, myore names and then accusations but no denial statement from the stables of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly, Abuja. Does that mean Biodun Fatoyinbo is guilty and Ese Walters is saying the truth???.... Somehow i'm tempted to believe her. Meanwhile we expect pastor Biodun's family to be on fire, the church scattered and maybe a divorce letter from his wife. It also brings to fore the mindset of our "prosperity-preaching " pastors. As usual, elders in the joint will make sacrifices, sip on our palmwine and watch where the compass will direct Pastor 'Biodun Fatoyinbo. In the meantime,...

NATIONAL EXCHANGE AND LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT SEMINAR

"Things have fallen apart and the old folks seem not to have any solutions in their heads"..these words from a popular person underscored the relative ineffectiveness of "elders" today. It is therefore evident that workable solutions lie in the hands of the youths. For this reason members of Association Internationale de Etudiants le ScienceEconomie et Commerciale (AIESEC) Nigeria (HQ Netherlands) have come up with a solution-youth development... The Nigerian member c'ttee is organising something called National Exchange and Leadership Development Seminar which is being scheduled to hold in Ilorin, kwara state capital. It aims at training youths for personal and national development... More info coming soon..thumbs up AIESEC!

ARSE-ANAL: DISGRACING ENGLAND SINCE 2005

When Arsenal went a whole season without losing a match the whole world made noise about Arsenal being the 'pride of London' and how soccer will revolve around her. Fast forward to eight seasons later and we are in 2013. Great players later and Arsene  Wenger has won nothing for the club, not even a stainless cup!. Many greats have passed through the canon-crest club...Gilberto Silva, Dennis Bergkamp, Kanu Nwankwo, Thierry Henry, David Seaman, Patrick Viera, Ashley Cole, Anthonio Reyes, Fransesc Fabregas and a whole lot of people. It is evident that these players won the trophies and not officer Wenger. In another view, "the prof" seems to have run out of ideas as nothing seems to be working on-field. A quick interview conducted among Arsenal and soccer fans in general had one thing in common. Coach Wenger should stop buying players that will make the club look like a high-school team. Experience is one thing that matters in the English Premier League. As a matter o...

FEDERAL UNIVERSITIES: A GIANT'S DISGRACE

Great inhabitants of planet earth..I bring you greetings from Otakpaikpo (the god of palmwine in the Local Joint) and I hope the situation of our nation has not given you an insinuation that things are on a downward motion ( I just picked up rhyming as a career so I'm flauting it). Yours truly would have loved to welcome you in every Nigerian language but at the moment I'm less privileged in most of our country's lingua but I'll attempt the major languages..if u're joining the joint from the South-West I say e k'abo, from the East I say Nno and from the North I say Sanu de zua!      Welcome to the Local Joint and I hope each person brought a visitor. All said and done we go to the issue at hand. I heard a lot of people say there's nothing worth celebrating in this "Ethnic concoction" called Nigeria (as someone described) but the fact that we are still together is something to thank the Holy Lord for.. I hope you have ordered f...

BARRISTER PLEAAAAAASSSSEEEEE!!!....ABUAD STUDENTS CRY OUT

After much wahala  and troubles of pleading with nothing happening, students of Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti have brought their case for discussion at the local joint. According to one of them, scandalous increments have been effected in the fees payable by every student and this does not taste well (like the asun here at the joint) in the mouths of students especially the parents. According to another student who pleaded anonymity, "the annoying thing is that no change will be effected in the stupid school".. Phone calls to Barrister Afe Babalola (proprietor of the school) didnt go through as his phone was switched off. We however plead to the management of ABUAD to reconsider this chess move as it might not be very palatable in the end. As usual in the local joint, the case will be discussed and taken to the gods of our land..whatever the outcome is will be made public. Till the joint opens again...enjoy your palmy!
